MOSCOW – Reports from the US Embassy in Moscow about unsanctioned rallies across Russia were a guidance rather than the intention to inform US nationals staying in Russia, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Monday.
“This was not informing US nationals about the places they should avoid going to, as the US embassy is trying to wriggle out and explain itself. This was, by and large, a motivation, an instruction that the US Embassy in Moscow gave to those who were first deceived through American social networks and Internet platforms, and then were told about a certain march on the Kremlin,” the diplomat told Rossiya-24 television on Monday.
She also said that many participants in unsanctioned rallies had fallen victim to propaganda. “This is exactly the case when this propaganda, veiling a sheer lie, was prompting people to take part in illegal rallies,” she explained.
Earlier, protest was voiced to US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan in connection with the embassy’s posting reports in social networks in support of illegal rallies in some Russian cities on January 23. A commentary by an official representative of the US Department of State on the developments on that day was qualified as inadmissible. The ambassador was told that that the Russian side regarded this activity as direct meddling in domestic affairs of Russia and urged compliance with the Russian legislation and diplomatic rules.
Unauthorized rallies in support of opposition blogger Alexey Navalny who had been detained upon return from Germany were held in Moscow and other Russian cities on January 23. Prosecutor’s offices and police warned about responsibility for taking part in unauthorized rallies.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said earlier that the fact that the US embassy in Russia had posted on its website information about the time and location of unauthorized event was far beyond the limits of concern for American citizens in Russia.
From Gennady Zyuganov of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Excerpts.
Note that the methods described by the ideologue of the “color revolutions,” Gene Sharp, were tested in Czechoslovakia, Poland, Romania and Yugoslavia.
With the help of “color revolutions,” pro-Western liberals smashed Ukraine to pieces, then tried to blow up Belarus.
Liberals arrange “color revolutions” to save their globalist project. For them, neither family, nor friendship, nor conscience, nor patriotism, nor sovereignty are of any value. The main values for them are gold bars, dollars and power as a source of unlimited enrichment. Therefore, the liberals will impose their rules in the most brutal way.
Now they have taken revenge in America. In the United States, two clans clashed: national and globalist capital. And again Russia was in the crosshairs of the globalists.
[The] key goal of the globalists remains Russia – the destruction of its sovereignty, its enslavement….
Navalny does not and will never offer the public a coherent program, a clear vision of the future. Its only function is to ignite a Maidan in Russia. I will also note that this saboteur with a Berlin “residence permit” was sent to us as soon as Biden declared that the main enemy of the United States was Russia.
As far as I know, the Western curators prepared the action on January 23 in advance. In particular, a scenario covering 37 cities of Russia was painted, very similar to other “color” scenarios. The peculiarity was that they tried to involve teenagers in protest actions.
Among the protesters on January 23, there were groups of people provoking clashes with the police. I have already seen such groups in Minsk. There, they violently attacked law enforcement officers – if only to provoke a retaliatory aggression and use it as evidence of the arbitrariness of the authorities against supposed civilians.
