A fair way of judging a person or a nation is by what they’re most proud of. In any other country the government boasting of having killed almost 20,000 of its citizens would be viewed as the most serious of human rights issues. Not in Turkey. It remains and is praised as a stellar, exemplary member of NATO.
At least 1,595 terrorists were neutralized in counterterror operations carried out in the past seven months in Turkey, the Defense Ministry said on July 29.
“A total of 18,296 terrorists have been neutralized since July 24, 2015, and 1,595 since the beginning of this year,” she [Defense Ministry spokeswoman Major Pınar Kara] added.
