Visit of the NATO Military Committee to the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Assessment Center

NATO Military Committee headed by Admiral Rob Bauer paid a two-day visit to Georgia. The delegation of the highest military body of the North Atlantic Alliance is in Georgia for the fourth time.

Within the framework of the official visit, the representatives of the NATO Military Committee were hosted in Krtsanisi by the Commander of the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Assessment Center (JTEC)….The guests personally inspected the current national and multinational command headquarters exercises – “Didgori 2021” and “MAPLE ARCH”. [The] online training Turkey-Azerbaijan-Georgia tripartite training “Eternity 2021” was also observed.

Later, a bilateral meeting was held between the Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces and the Head of the NATO Military Committee. Major General Giorgi Matiashvili and Admiral Rob Bauer spoke about the process of transformation of the Defense Forces, the importance of NATO-Georgia military cooperation and future priorities, as well as the security environment of the Black Sea.

The official visit of the highest military body of the North Atlantic Alliance to Georgia reaffirms NATO’s unwavering support for the country’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
