Major General David Tabor’s [followed up on?] US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin[‘s] visit to [Georgia and] the two countries’ defense ministries signed between the Ministry of Defense and the containment building initiative practical step and of special operations forces aims at further developing….During the [current] meeting, the sides also discussed the ongoing and planned modernization process in the Defense Forces and the ongoing joint projects in the field of defense between Georgia and the United States .
Today, Major General David Tabor met with the Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces, Major General Giorgi Matiashvili. The sides focused on the close cooperation between Georgia and the US European Command and expressed hope that the cooperation will be further deepened in the future. According to Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, the support of the US Special Operations Forces in Europe, joint exercises and activities are essential in the development and modernization of the Georgian Special Operations Forces.
