Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze met with the newly appointed Canadian Defense Attaché

The Deputy Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces, Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze, hosted the newly appointed Canadian Defense Attaché, Colonel Philip Sauve, in [to] Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan….

Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze stressed the importance of military cooperation between the Georgian and Canadian Defense Ministries….Talks focused on the areas of defense cooperation between Georgia and Canada, especially in the field of military training and education. In this context, the current multinational exercise Maple Arch 2021, currently organized by the Canadian side, is being held in Georgia for the first time at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Assessment Center (JTEC).

The General briefed the Canadian Defense Attaché on Georgia’s aspirations in Euro-Atlantic structures, the security environment in the Black Sea region and the mechanisms of cooperation between NATO and Georgia, noting that greater NATO involvement, including in military exercises and exercises, is of great importance.
