Ukraine, Azerbaijan sign joint declaration on deepening strategic partnership
A joint declaration on deepening strategic partnership and a number of other bilateral documents were signed following talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Kyiv as the President’s Office reported.
The leaders signed a declaration that records the main agreements reached as a result of today’s meetings. The document confirms the readiness of the parties to deepen the strategic partnership, particularly through the implementation of specific projects in areas of mutual interest. Among other things, to ensure peace and stability in the Black Sea-Caspian Sea region and beyond.
“We have signed a joint declaration of the Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan. It enshrines the readiness to provide mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our states within the internationally recognized borders, joint opposition to hybrid threats, the desire to ensure peace and stability in the Black Sea-Caspian Sea region and beyond it,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The joint declaration stipulates agreements to provide mutual support of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two states within their internationally recognized borders….Readiness for cooperation in counteracting hybrid threats is also defined; further strengthening of cooperation in defense industry by completing current and developing new joint projects; direct mention of intentions to deepen cooperation within international and regional organizations and forums, in particular the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, GUAM, BSEC is also mentioned.
…Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, head of the SOCAR oil company signed a memorandum on cooperation in the energy sector.

Azerbaijani, Ukrainian Presidents hold meeting in expanded format
[Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky] Thank you for supporting Ukraine, our sovereignty and the joint projects between our countries. I am confident that these projects will develop our relations in the future.
Today we went over several issues: energy, infrastructure, transport, military-technical cooperation and many others.
[Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev] Ukraine and Azerbaijan have been successfully cooperating with each other for many years, and we also defend each other’s interests on international platforms. Mutual support and protection of each other’s territorial integrity is evidence of the high level of our cooperation.
