Georgia and NATO member states are building a new Euro-Atlantic security architecture together, Irakli Beraia, the Chair of the Committee on Defence and Security of the Parliament of Georgia, said on Wednesday.
[He] noted European and Euro-Atlantic integration were a “civilisational choice” of Georgian citizens, and “political and practical” cooperation between the country and its partners was at “an unprecedented level” confirmed by “concrete and measurable steps”.
The MP noted Georgia’s participation in “all important formats” of NATO, explaining the absence of the Government from the meeting of NATO defence leaders in Brussels due to the session’s focus on security in the Pacific region. Beraia also said the Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces had met with the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee the day before the meeting in a bilateral format.
