Volunteers from 55 countries joined the international legion in Ukraine

Volunteers from 55 countries have joined the international legion created in connection with the Russian attack in Ukraine.

This figure was announced at a briefing by the representative of the International Defense Legion of Ukraine Damien Magru….According to him, the legion has volunteers from all continents, even from distant countries such as Brazil, South Korea and Australia.

Magru also said that the majority of Americans and Britons in the legion. They are followed by Poles, Canadians and representatives of different countries.

The representative of the International Legion refused to disclose the total number of legionnaires, citing the confidentiality of the information. Asked about funding, he said that the international legion is part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and is funded by the defense budget.

Volunteer fighters from 55 countries joined International Legion – spokesperson

Volunteer fighters from 55 countries from all continents have joined the Ukrainian military’s international legion that was created in Ukraine in connection with the Russian invasion of the country.

Damien Magrou, spokesperson for the International Legion for the Defense of Ukraine, said this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“We have representatives of 55 countries from all continents, even as far as Brazil, South Korea, Australia,” Magrou said.

He said that most members of the legion are from the U.S. and the UK, followed by Poles and Canadians with Ukrainian roots, and representatives of other nationalities. There are also many people from the Baltic and Nordic countries, including many people from Finland, Magrou said.
