Azerbaijan established a strong partnership with NATO: Delegation head

“Azerbaijan established a strong partnership with NATO, jointly contributed to international security, and supported NATO’s peacekeeping activities in Kosovo and Afghanistan,” said Jafar Huseynzade, head of Azerbaijan’s Delegation to NATO, at the high-level conference on “Women for Sustainable Tomorrow” held at ADA University.

“Our military contingent in Afghanistan worked shoulder to shoulder with peacekeepers from the alliance countries.

Azerbaijani peacekeepers were one of the countries that left Afghanistan last, we supported the evacuation process until the last moment. It was hailed by the NATO Secretary General and other officials. Our cooperation covers various fields. We have political dialogue and practical cooperation with NATO,” he stated.

NATO delegation visits National Defense University of Azerbaijan

A delegation led by Deputy Chief of Staff at Partnership Directorate at NATO’s Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Rear Admiral Gunnstein Bruåsdal visited the National Defense University on November 22, Trend reports.

The delegation is paying a visit to Azerbaijan as part of the NATO Days.

Rector of the National Defense University, Professor, Lieutenant General Heydar Piriyev welcomed the guests…. Azerbaijan’s interest in further expanding the current military cooperation with NATO was noted.

….Highly appreciating the activities of the Azerbaijan Army servicemen within the framework of various NATO programs, the guest highlighted the successful continuation of Azerbaijan-NATO relations.


The NATO delegation delivered presentations to the listeners regarding NATO’s history and structure, as well as Azerbaijan-NATO relations.
