Major General Norbert Wagner was on a working visit to Georgia

Commander of the NATO Joint Forces Training Center (JFTC), Major General Norbert Wagner was on a working visit to Georgia. The JFTC Commander was hosted by the Deputy Commanders of the Defense Forces of Georgia – Major General Zaza Chkhaidze and Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze. The parties discussed ongoing reforms in the Georgian Defense Forces, current issues of cooperation and future prospects.

Within the framework of the visit, Major General Norbert Wagner visited the units of the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) at different locations . The Commander of Training and Military Education, Colonel Zurab Khvichia , and the Commander of the Joint NATO-Georgia Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC), Colonel Davit Gagua, introduced the guests to the ongoing training and education events…including discussing the future Issues related to the planned exercise ” NATO-Georgia 2025″.

Emergency response equipment was provided to the National Guard

As part of the NATO-Georgia Essential Package (SNGP), the Danish government has provided crisis response equipment to the Georgian National Guard. National Guard reservists will use the new equipment to perform emergency response support tasks. The event was attended by the representative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Tbilisi, the deputy head of the mission Anders Trelleborg and the head of the NATO group, Colonel Norbert Hess.

The corresponding document for the transfer of equipment was signed by the head of the National Guard, Brigadier General Roman Jokhadze, and the Danish leader of the crisis management initiative, Colonel Susan Christensen.

The National Guard has been involved in the crisis management initiative of the NATO-Georgia essential package since 2019….

The Commander of the Defense Forces was on a visit to the Slovak Republic

The Commander of the Defense Forces of Georgia was on a visit to the Slovak Republic. Major General Giorgi Matiashvili was hosted by the leaders of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Slovakia. At the bilateral meeting held at the General Staff, they thanked the Commander of the Defense Forces of Georgia for his visit, expressed strong support for the path of our country’s sovereignty and Euro-Atlantic integration….

…Major General Giorgi Matiashvili provided information on the reforms carried out in the Georgian Defense Forces to the Slovakian side. The Commander of the Defense Forces focused on the assistance provided by Slovakia in the process of implementing the NATO-Georgia Essential Package (SNGP), as well as bilaterally and in NATO and EU formats.

One of the topics of the conversation was the joint participation in the international military exercises held in Georgia and Slovakia. Within the framework of the visit, the commander of the Georgian Defense Forces and members of the delegation had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the ongoing multinational command and staff training under the auspices of NATO. The Defense Forces of Georgia took part in the Slovak Shield 2023 military exercises for the first time as observers. The training helps to increase mutual compatibility between NATO member and partner countries and raise the level of combat training of military personnel.
