Azerbaijan Continues Attacks on Armenia, Artsakh

Azerbaijani forces continued their attacks on Armenian border positions in Yeraskh, as well as on Artsakh Defense Army positions on Thursday, the defense ministries of Armenia and Artsakh reported.

Beginning at 5:20 p.m. local time on Thursday, Azerbaijani forces opened fire on Armenian positions in the Yeraskh region of the Ararat Province using different caliber firearms, as a result of which fields caught fire.

Azerbaijani forces attacked Artsakh Defense Forces on Wednesday using combat drones, a day after attempting to shoot at positions from near Shushi.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed Artsakh Defense Army reports about the Azerbaijani deployment of combat drones to attack Artsakh positions.

Russia confirms Azerbaijan’s drone strikes in Karabakh

The Russian Defense Ministry on Thursday, August 12 confirmed Azerbaijan’s ceasefire violations against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

“Over the past day, one violation of the ceasefire was registered,” the Russian peacekeeping contingent deployed in the region since the end of hostilities in late 2020 said in a statement.

“On August 11, 2021, at 7.29 am and 7.58 am, the Azerbaijani armed forces delivered two strikes with the use of combat quadcopters on the position of the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh….”
