Pentagon urges US allies to lift restrictions on defensive arms supplies for Ukraine

The US Department of Defense called on their allies to lift the restrictions on supplies of defensive firearms for Ukraine. Laura Cooper, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia said so at an online event, organized by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Washington…,

She reiterated that Washington sent Ukraine the Javelin anti-tank missile launchers. The Pentagon official believes that the American allies should follow the example of the U.S. and lift the restrictions for arms sales and defense programs, as long as they concerned Ukraine.

According to the official, today, the U.S. possesses modern cutting-edge technologies, so the American AA [presumably anti-aircraft] defense systems could be useful in Ukraine, in the view of possible Russian aggression coming from Crimea.
