US warns Europe that Russia may plan Ukraine invasion – media

The U.S. is raising the alarm with European Union allies that Russia may be weighing a potential invasion of Ukraine as tensions flare between Moscow and the bloc over migrants and energy supplies, the Bloomberg sad referring to its sources.

“With Washington closely monitoring a buildup of Russian forces near the Ukrainian border, U.S. officials have briefed EU counterparts on their concerns over a possible military operation,” the message reads.

It is noted the assessments are believed to be based on information the U.S. hasn’t yet shared with European governments….

Russia denies rumors of invasion of Ukraine

First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky denied the publication of Bloomberg that Russia could allegedly plan an invasion of Ukraine, TASS reports.

“No, we never planned and we never will,” he said.

The diplomat assured that position will not change “unless we are provoked by Ukraine or by somebody else, and there will be the issue of defending our national sovereignty, because there are a lot of threats coming from Ukraine.”
