US Congress offers to consider Ukraine ‘NATO+ country’

The U.S. Congress has proposed recognizing Ukraine as a “NATO-plus” country, reports Voice of America.

“A group of Republican congressmen intends to introduce a bill to recognize Ukraine as a ‘NATO-plus’ country and initiate a feasibility check on declaring Russia a state sponsor of terrorism,” the report said. It is noted that the bill would provide Ukraine with military and diplomatic support….

Recognizing Ukraine as a “NATO-plus” country would ensure an expedited review of the sale of certain U.S. defense goods and services.

Earlier, Permanent Representative of the United States to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that the United States will continue to prepare a response to a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine…

“I wish that it is true that they have no plans [to invade Ukraine]. But everything we’ve seen so far indicate that they are making motions in that direction,” Thomas-Greenfield stated. [They aren’t but they are.]
