President Erdoğan accuses NATO, EU of failure to act over Ukraine
The West and its institutions, particularly NATO, should have taken more decisive steps on the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian crisis, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said, stressing that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky needs more concrete support than advices from Western capitals.
Erdoğan’s statement came hours before NATO leaders virtually met on Feb. 25 to discuss the measures the alliance will take in the face of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“NATO should have taken a more decisive step,” Erdoğan told reporters in Istanbul.

“The West, which has given plenty of advice until today, continue to offer advice to Ukraine,” he added. “What have you done until now? There is no step taken. That’s why I attach importance to the NATO meeting. It should not turn into a mere array of condemnation; NATO should be more determined,” said Erdoğan.
Turkey is a NATO member on the southern flank of the alliance and is neighboring Russia in the Black Sea. Erdoğan had already contacted NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and French President Emmanuel Macron before the NATO summit.

NATO should have taken more determined step: Turkiye’s president on Ukraine crisis
NATO should have taken a more determined step, Turkiye’s president said on Friday, as the Russian military intervention in Ukraine unfolds.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the Western stance on the Russian attack on its neighbor, saying it still gives advices as it has offered “plenty of advice until today”.
Speaking to reporters after Friday prayers in Istanbul, the president said: “The European Union, as well as all the other Western conceptions, unfortunately, have not taken a serious and resolute stance at the moment (in Ukraine).”
On Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s remarks that they were left to fight “alone,” Erdogan said that the West’s advice and failure to show a determined stance “does not comply with friendship or solidarity.”
Turkey can do so if it really desires – Putin has issued his invitation.

Perhaps you’ve forgotten that Erdogan and his one nation, two states Lieutenant Aliyev are Putin’s closest partners in the world along with China and (for the moment) Belarus. Aliyev just left Moscow where he signed a political-military agreement with the Kremlin. Of course Zelensky and his Western backers are using exactly the justification to attack the Donbass and demand the return of Crimea that Erdogan and Aliyev did to attack Nagorno-Karabakh….I see Russia claims it’s shot down four Bayraktar combat drones provided to Kiev by Putin’s strategic partner Erdogan.

Well, for more of the same, Erdogan need merely act on his expressed opinion… ‘Partner’ or not. Now’s his likely last chance to reestablish the Crimean Khanate under (Neo-)Ottoman suzerainty… Or maybe he means ‘Gavur’ should sacrifice themselves for such a worthy aim instead, while he leads from the rear and gives moral support…

Did you see that gun they used to shoot the drones down with?

Hey President Erdogan. What stopped you from sending a battalion or two? Don’t complain about your neighbor’s dirty windows when your own need to be cleaned.
