PM: Gov’t responsible for peace, there will be “no more war” in Georgia

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Saturday Georgia had a “responsible” Government, and there would be “no more war” in the country.

Garibashvili’s remarks came after the opposition United National Movement members, along with former president Giorgi Margvelashvili, visited Ukraine before the Georgian parliamentary delegation arrived in Kyiv.

Garibashvili referred to the UNM as a “war party”, adding he was indifferent to comments and actions by its members.

I don’t care who went where, what the UNM provocateurs are doing and saying. This is not interesting for me,” he told the press.

The Georgian PM said the conflicts in the 1990s and the 2008 war had brought “devastating consequences” for the country, which would not be repeated.

Our Government is a responsible Government. I am primarily responsible for the safety and peace in our country, the safety of every citizen, including yours. Therefore, what the war party, the traitors’ party will decide and who will go where, is not interesting for me,” he explained.
