Army announces upcoming unit deployments in support of European allies and partners

The Department of the Army announced today the summer deployment of the following units in support of our unrelenting commitment to Europe and our NATO allies. Each of these units will replace a previously deployed unit in response to the invasion of Ukraine.

The 101st Airborne Division Headquarters, from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, will deploy to replace the 82nd Airborne Division Headquarters. Approximately 500 Soldiers will deploy.

The 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, will deploy approximately 4,200 Soldiers to replace the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.

The 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, from Fort Hood, Texas, will deploy approximately 4,200 Soldiers to replace the 1st Armored Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division.

Ninth Atlantic Resolve aviation rotation announced

On May 13, the Department of the Army announced the 1st Armored Division Combat Aviation Brigade’s upcoming summer rotational deployment to Europe in support of Atlantic Resolve.

The combat aviation brigade will be under command and control of V Corps. As America’s forward deployed Corps in Europe, Victory Corps is the foundation of the U.S. Army operational commitment to NATO.

The deployment of ready, combat-credible U.S. forces to Europe in support of Atlantic Resolve is evidence of the strong and unremitting U.S. commitment to NATO and Europe. Through bilateral, joint and multinational training, Atlantic Resolve builds readiness, increases interoperability and enhances the bond between ally and partner militaries.
