Azerbaijan’s MFA note to Russia in connection with activities of peacekeepers
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has sent a note to Russia in connection with the activities of the peacekeepers, the head of the press service of the MFA [Ministry of Foreign Affairs] Aykhan Hajizade said….
According to him, the Azerbaijani side has repeatedly appealed to the command of the peacekeeping contingent in order to prevent the illegal exploitation of natural resources in the Azerbaijani territories, where the Russian peacekeepers are temporarily deployed, as well as to eliminate the consequences of the negative impact on the environment.

“It is a peaceful protest. We only demand the protection of the environment. We want to draw the attention of Andrey Volkov, commander of the Russian peacekeepers, to this injustice to be stopped. We demand stoppage of environmental terror,” said environmental activist Zamina Zamanova, a participant in the protest against the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the Azerbaijani territories under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers held in Shusha….
She urged to protect nature: “Mines are illegally exploited. Besides the illegal exploitation, water sources, environment, air, and soil are polluted as well. Our only demand is to stop illegal activity and polluting the environment”.
